No Joint = No PAIN. A very "SOFT" Kind bit.

My COMFORT Bits also allow the rider to isolate one side of the bit, (roller center piece) assisting in lifting a shoulder or in balancing, bending or collection. The mouthpiece is also made with sweet iron copper inlays, giving the horse a sweet and saliva-producing taste in his mouth.

These Comfort Bits are quiet DIFFERENT to a PED.

‍My COMFORT Snaffles have a “bushing” in the centre, (whether LR or “Fixed” cheek) which prevents any palate pressure at all. It also allows the 2 sides of the mouthpiece to move independently of one another, allowing more accurate communication.
Eg; Direct Should-lift, NO OTHER type of Jointed Bit can effectively do this.

As these bits are already curved /45 degree to accommodate the shape of the horses’ mouth – they are measured as per the “Mouth” size of your horse….NOT BY THE BIT SIZE…. Meaning – the “Mouth” size is generally ½” smaller than the current traditional size bit being used.

So there is "MOUTH SIZE" / 45 Degree shaped bits and there is "BIT SIZE" (the Jointed version).

Note: the jointed bit is laid flat to measure, as per normal methods. The COMFORT Bit is NOT Flat. It is 45 degree shaped – to fit the shape of the mouth.  
Hence if you still measure across it (MUST have the mouth centred. Not fully open or fully closed - that is the MOUTH size.  – therefore 1/2" smaller than BIT size. ‍‍

Hypothetically - If you were to put your foot on the COMFORT bit and make it FLAT - than it would become the BIT size, or better still – measure “around” the INSIDE of the bit, around the curved side - that will also give you the BIT size.

Hence when ordering is best to state - Current JOINTED BIT size (to save any confusion and resulting in receiving the wrong size in these COMFORT Snaffles)  Otherwise – just provide the Info as requested on the order page and leave the rest to me.

All too frequently people purchase, a COMFORT bit in their existing traditional BIT size, and then fit it;   Incorrectly.
Outcome – Wrong size and Horse is not as happy.

Orientation to RIDING in a COMFORT Bit.

‍When purchasing, and then using my COMFORT bit be sure to have it fitted correctly. Remember - they are fitted "Different" to that of traditional bits.
Upon receiving your order - Be sure to read the enclosed brochure. You will need to have dropped THIS bit down at least ONE hole each side – cause they just SIT – COMFY in the mouth. (Hence why I called them COMFORT BITS )
They DO NOT HAVE a Wrinkle line when fitted and Very Little gap between the bit and the lip.

WHY? -  cause they are already the Shape/SIZE of the mouth.‍‍
